2023 opportunities

at Marom

Create your own program with your friends or join one of the delegations, what ever you choose, 2023 will be a year full of fun and adventure with Marom.

Delegation of young Jewish professionals from around the world to meet and learn with Uganda and the Abayudaya Jewish Community.

We will open registration for the 2023 delegation soon.

During your stay in Uganda, you will meet with different local communities, see volunteer projects in action, and gain a thorough understanding of local challenges. Your journey will include work within the Namulanda and Abayudaya communities, travel to sites of interest, and learning sessions with other Jewish young adults from around the world.

The group will comprise 15 eligible young Jewish professionals from all over the world.

Program costs $950

 

The price of your trip includes accommodation, food, transportation, security, staffing, workshops, and learning sessions.

The price does not cover flights, visas, insurance, and the needed vaccinations for travel in Uganda.

The program and its security measures meet the Jewish Agency’s Head of Security requirements.

Budapest Ultimate Volunteer Experience

Marom Budapest offers an amazing opportunity for you to volunteer while living, learning, and having fun in this beautiful historic city filled with generations of Jewish history.

We will open registration for the 2023 delegation soon.

Since opening its doors in 1999, the mission of Marom Budapest and its projects is to provide an opportunity for the representation of an independent, critical voice and the free exercise of diverse cultures. Over the years, the center has become one of the leading civil society organizations in Hungary working with several civil activists, and Jewish and non-Jewish NGOs. The center has become a social hub gathering 12 different NGOs dealing with top priority issues affecting Budapest today.

Volunteers can choose to work with one of the following NGOs, or in the framework of the Jewish community.

The program and its security measures meet the Jewish Agency’s Head of Security requirements.

Participants in both programs must meet
the following requirements…

  • Jewish – no need to be affiliated. 
  • Post-college and under 35.
  • Commitment to all aspects of the program. 
  • Participation in the programs requires an interview.
  • Speak English.

Big Impact 2023

Microgrants are here, and they’re waiting for your ideas! We are looking for initiatives by individuals or organizations that will bring young Jews together and support their Jewish journey.

Last year, Marom successfully funded over 15 microgrants across the globe, and we aim to continue this tradition in the coming year.

Projects will be accepted until 30.3.2023. 
The deadline for completion is the end of December 2023.
The form can be filled out in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Popular ideas:

Social media: blog posts or digital content: Share your ideas, blog posts, photography or other relevant content.

Field trip: take your friends for a fun cultural adventure in your area.

Shabbat Dinner: Gather a group of 10-15 people and host a fun, meaningful Shabbat. Together with Marom we’ll ensure an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Jewish Spiritual retreat: A complete package that includes content for an entire Shabbaton and the arrival of Marom’s Rabbi to lead the program.  You just need to provide the space and a group of over 25 people.
